About L5 Legacy Capital: two Army veterans who invest beside you.
L5 Legacy Capital is a veteran-led private real estate investment and development firm in Frisco, Texas, founded in 2026 by U.S. Army veterans Byron Kizzie and Dr. Melynda Kizzie after more than 15 years of building real estate with their own hands. It is family-owned and veteran-owned. L5 invests in overlooked real estate across Texas and Louisiana. The founders' money goes in first, and investors are paid first.
Most sponsors raise money. We stand beside it. That's what we mean by in the foxhole with you.
A private conversation with Byron Kizzie, our Managing Partner. No pitch. No pressure.

Why does who you invest with matter more than what you buy?
Because a great deal with the wrong operator is a bad deal. The asset is half the decision. The other half is who stands next to your capital, and whether their money is on the line too.
You've built real wealth. Now it has to work as hard as you did. But a bigger share goes out the door in taxes every April. Too much of it rides on a stock market you don't control. Cash sits idle while you decide. And the private real estate the wealthy have always owned has felt out of reach, or wrapped in fees and salespeople who disappear when it matters.
At L5, the people who find, underwrite and close every deal are the people you talk to. Their money is in the deal, and it goes in first.
Who is L5 Legacy Capital?
L5 Legacy Capital is a husband-and-wife firm led by two Army veterans who built it by hand, one project at a time. Here is the short version of a long road.
Service.
Byron and Melynda met while serving in the U.S. Army. Byron served 20 years. The Army taught them both to plan the mission and take care of the people beside them.
Hawaii.
As a military family, they built their first home for less than $320,000, later rented it and built a second. Both sold within 60 days for more than $400,000 in combined profit. They learned the model: build, rent, sell.
Virginia.
They acquired 25 acres, built three homes first to test the market and had a waiting list of renters before construction was complete. They proved the model at community scale.
Hard hats and hammers.
They tore out bathrooms, floors and sheetrock themselves, and kept building through the 2006 boom and the 2008 downturn.
Northeast Louisiana.
A $2.25 million workforce housing development. Buyers pre-qualified before ground was broken. Investors realized a 1.5x equity multiple, $1.50 back for every $1.00 invested, in under 15 months.
2026.
Fifteen-plus years of building became L5 Legacy Capital, open to investors who want in on the same deals.
Today.
The $15 million L5 fund, investing in commercial real estate across Texas and Louisiana.
Hawaii and Virginia were the founders' own projects, not L5 investor results. One project's results do not predict the results of any other project. Target returns are not guaranteed. All investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal.

Four things: alignment, discipline, access and legacy. Each one comes with proof, and each one is something you can hold us to.
our money goes in first, and you get paid first.
Proof: the founders put their own capital into the fund before bringing in investors, and the fund's offering documents give limited partners a preferred return, paid before the general partners share in profits.
For you: we win when you win, and not before.
we say no 95 times so we can say yes to you.
Proof: we review about 100 deals to choose the two to five that work, and we plan the exit before we buy. In Virginia we built three homes before we built the community. In Northeast Louisiana we pre-qualified buyers before we broke ground.
For you: most deals never reach you. The ones that do have already survived our scrutiny.
you talk to the people running your investment.
Proof: every first investor conversation at L5 is with Byron, our Managing Partner. Fund investors receive a quarterly investor update, and everyone on our list can get the monthly newsletter.
For you: when you have a question, you ask the people making the decisions. No call centers. No gatekeepers.
we build wealth for families and life for communities.
Proof: in Northeast Louisiana, working families bought quality homes they could afford, with local lender support we arranged.
For you: real assets you can visit, explain to your family and be proud of.
“You look around and the community you put that asset in is thriving. People are working. You have coffee shops, hospitality, retail, apartment buildings. You've built a little ecosystem.”
Who leads L5 Legacy Capital?
Two founders with a clean split: she finds the deal; he makes sure it closes.
Byron Kizzie
Byron decides whether a deal is strong enough for your capital. He leads underwriting, bank relationships, how each equity raise is structured, and the exit strategy. A 20-year U.S. Army veteran and a corporate leader in the defense sector, with 15-plus years in real estate development and private equity and more than $6 million in acquisitions overseen. Your first conversation is with him.

Why trust a boutique sponsor you've only just met?
You shouldn't, until you've checked us out. Here are the questions investors ask us most.
“I've never heard of L5.”
That's fair. Boutique means you deal with the founders, not a sales team. Two people whose own money is in the fund answer your questions personally. Meet us. Ask us anything. Judge us by our answers.
“How do I know my money is protected?”
No investment is free of risk, and we'll never tell you otherwise. What protects capital is discipline, alignment and transparency: conservative underwriting, the founders' money in first, investors paid first under the fund's offering documents, and a quarterly investor update on every fund project.
“I don't have time to manage another investment.”
That's the point. We find, buy, build, manage and exit. You review the plan, ask your questions and read the updates.
“What happens when a project hits trouble?”
We don't hand it off. We go back in the foxhole, solve the problem and get the project over the finish line, because your money is counting on us.
